Why We Can’t Sleep

It all seems nice and quiet
So just go back to sleep
And settle into dreams
Of blissfully counting sheep

Not one has failed to jump
Over the bar held high
While simple distractions abound
No one sees eye to eye

And yet the air is sticky
Filled with the stench of deceit
They’re counting on your blindness
So just go back to sleep

But those with ears to hear
And those with eyes to see
Sense the presence of much evil
Rising from the sea

As the Spirit prepares the hearts
Some for burial and resurrection
Others how to hide in plain sight
During the insurrection

And that’s why you can’t sleep
‘Cause you know it’s about to press play
The parallel Kingdoms clearly declared
On those who are willing to stay
