Dream of Cups

There were cups of many shapes, sizes and colors sitting on the table. Some were filled with garbage while others were completely empty. Many were turned upright, as if waiting to be filled, while some were turned upside down, as if refusing to receive anything. Some had fallen and were laying on their sides, rolling back-and-forth on the table as the sound of the footsteps grew louder and louder.

The skies were darkened and the wind stirred up a fresh scent of rain. When I heard the sound of thunder, I knew that we were on the verge of the greatest outpouring, such as never was seen before.

I was talking with some young adults, one of whom wasn’t sure what to do with his cup, which had been turned upside down all his life. Faith in a higher entity, as he called it, was never an issue in his life, but now he was beginning to wonder. At the last moment he chose to live up to his name and make יהוה his lot. When he turned his cup right side up, the latter rain began to fall. Suddenly I saw many hands reaching out to turn their cups upright on the table, while surprisingly saw some that had been upright all their lives silently choosing to turn theirs over because things didn’t go the way they’d expected and a spirit of disappointment clung to the inside of their cups.

Some that were filled with garbage quickly emptied themselves and then turned upright. Those who were filthy on the outside but clean on the inside were washed clean and filled while those who were clean on the outside but filthy inside turned themselves sideways, deliberately in order to receive nothing.

Then a huge altar appeared in a white house that had recently been freshly plastered from top to bottom. The neighborhood was reminiscent of our former home in Castle Hills on Forest Point, but the workers weren’t American. Then a red heifer was sacrificed on a hill nearby and its ashes were brought to rest in this house, waiting for the purification rites to begin.

Without warning, people who’d been ordering food in crowded restaurants became silent when they saw what happened to the huge clock tower that had been faithfully ticking for years. Both hands suddenly fell off and the clock fell silent. Then time shifted into a new dimension and Heaven’s time was revealed on earth. The old way of doing things became irrelevant, even dangerous and those whose cups were upright and ready were filled with insight and understanding that marveled and inspired all who witnessed them!
