‎פסח שני  – PESACH SHENI

Having grown up in a religious synagogue, we celebrated Pesach on the 14th of Nisan, the first month on יהוה’s calendar and never once regarded the Pesach Sheni of the second month of Iyar. Numbers 9:10-14 describes the Pesach Sheni, which falls on May 12 in 2025.

Some consider the 2nd month of Iyar as a time of healing. After the Exodus, the Israelites complained about a well of bitter water. So Moses threw a stick into the water, which brought healing. Then יהוה promised that if we’d follow Him, we’d be healed from the diseases in Egypt, for “I am יהוה your Healer” – אני י‑י רפאך, which is an acronym for Iyar אייר.

In 2024 יהוה instructed me to celebrate the Pesach Sheni, so I invited many friends to gather in Jerusalem to seek His face and we were all completely enriched by His glorious presence!

RECENTLY I WAS TOLD BY יהוה THAT THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CHOOSING TO KEEP THIS FEAST WILL BE BETTER UNDERSTOOD IN THE REMAINING YEARS.

In Numbers 9:11, יהוה offered the Pesach Sheni to those who couldn’t celebrate Pesach at its appointed time in Nisan, due to ceremonially uncleanliness from contact with a dead body or a journey during Pesach. Praise יהוה for His gracious provision to observe the Pesach, His מועד Moed, appointed Feast of deliverance, healing and salvation – I call it the Feast of Second-Chances!

The requirements for the Pesach Sheni are the same as Pesach:

1. Roasted lamb to be eaten with matzah and bitter herbs
2. None of the lamb left until morning
3. No bones of the lamb to be broken, later fulfilled by Yeshua as the Pesach Lamb from John 19:36

2 Chronicles 30 details what happened when King Hezekiah chose to covenant with the יהוה of Israel, so that His wrath would be turned away. When he commanded all Israel to celebrate the Pesach Sheni, some mocked him, but “with one heart” the priests chose to consecrate themselves before יהוה and destroy the false altars of Jerusalem!

Highlights of 2 Chronicles 29-30:

1. King Hezekiah repaired the doors of the House of יהוה, calling for the consecration of the priests to sacrifice to יהוה. “Thus the service of the house of יהוה was established again… causing all to rejoice, as this occurred suddenly.”
2. Vidui – וִדּוּי – Confession made that as we turn back to יהוה, He will release us from captivity!
3. A second chance was given to all who prepared their hearts to seek יהוה – even those who didn’t follow all the rules were heard, accepted and healed.
4. Hezekiah spoke to the heart of all the Levites who had good insight and discernment into the things of יהוה.
5. The end result was that as the priests blessed the people, their voice was heard and their prayer reached לִמְעוֹן קָדְשׁוֹ לַשָּׁמָיִם – His Holy Dwelling Place in Heaven!

I can already see how the fruit of choosing this Feast of Second-Chances will cause an awakening in the Spirit and a beautiful outpouring in Zion of the Four Cups of Sanctification, Deliverance, Redemption and Praise!

Please prayerfully consider celebrating the Pesach Sheni this year…
