The Mirrors of the Serving Women
While reading today’s Parasha, Exodus 38:8 jumped off the page as a word of encouragement for the women of Bat Tzion:
“Moreover, he made the laver of bronze with its base of bronze, from the mirrors of the serving women who served at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting.”
When Betzalel got the Heavenly download to create the sanctuary, he used the mirrors – מַרְאָה – of the serving women. This word for mirror also means vision and it’s found in the following verses.
Gen 46:2 – יהוה spoke to Israel in VISIONS of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.”
Exo 38:8 – the MIRRORS (VISIONS) of the serving women
Num 12:6 – He said,
“Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the יהוה, shall make Myself known to him in a VISION. I shall speak with him in a dream.
1Sa 3:15 – So Samuel lay down until morning. Then he opened the doors of the house of the יהוה. But Samuel was afraid to tell the VISION to Eli.
Eze 1:1 – …while I was by the river Chebar among the exiles, the Heavens were opened and I saw VISIONS of יהוה.
Eze 8:3 – He stretched out the form of a hand and caught me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and Heaven and brought me in the VISIONS of יהוה to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the idol of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy, was located.
Eze 40:2 – In the VISION of יהוה He brought me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, and on it to the south there was a structure like a city.
Dan 10:7 – Now I, Daniel, alone saw the VISION while the men who were with me did not see the VISION but a great dread fell on them, and they ran away to hide themselves.
Dan 10:8 – So I was left alone and saw this great VISION…
Dan 10:16 – …As a result of the VISION, anguish has come upon me and I have retained no strength.
In Daniel 10:17-21, as he reached the end of his own strength, which is what needs to happen to us, he was given this word, which is relevant today:
“I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come, but I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. There is no one who stands firmly with me against these forces except Michael your prince.”
I truly believe that during and after Bat Tzion, which is a Time Gate, our faith in יהוה alone to defeat all our enemies will be strengthened and many will begin to discern the voice of יהוה more clearly than ever and enter into their prophetic calling and destiny in the Land.
So yes, יהוה, take the MIRRORS and VISIONS of Your women who serve at the Tent of Meeting as we enter into this new season!
